I have had the pleasure of knowing Gary for over a decade now. It started originally from going to The Pinkenba Hotel for lunches while seeing local customers back in 2011. However, Gary, had made the pub via the entertainment and atmosphere one that had people driving out of their way to make it their local. One of the highlights for me, was Gary’s events at The Pink. I attended over a dozen of these events easily since first meeting over a decade ago. I never stopped being impressed by the calibre of speakers he managed to bring in. From AFL legends to NRL stars, Jockeys, cricketers and even TV personalities. I appreciated more than most, how hard he had to work to get the mix right of speakers, as it’s a bit of magic to create special events, and atmospheres that make you want to go every time an invite would be thrown out. Now I have some cracking memorabilia from these events, no doubt, BUT the yarns I got from them were priceless. So hilarious most of them, and I still tell them today.

I have worked with Tori over the past 10 to 15 years in events. She has helped organise entertainment for many of the high class events I run including V8 Supercars sponsorship days at race tracks, the candy shop Mansion Gala dinners and convention centre entertainment as well as on site entertainment throughout other events. I have found her stuff to always be on time, professional and extremely entertaining. I have had many quirky and often last-minute bookings for Tori and she has always upheld professionalism and been able to supply me with exactly what I need. I would highly recommend Tori for any events organising entertainment organising or similar. No task is too big or small for Tori and her experience and expertise in the entertainment industry is second to none. I will continue to use her expertise wherever I can in any event or suggest her to any other event throughout the country.

In regards to Gary Powers acumen as function organiser/ presenter I can honestly say there is none better. As a small business owner & company director entertaining is vital component to rewarding my clientele. As a guess I would have attended at least 20 of Gary’s functions that have included many a different type of celebrity. Gary has a very happy knack not only having direct contact with these celebrities but also seems to be able to relate to the different personalities that is a requirement to deal with same. We all know some can be a bit temperamental!! The functions that I & my clients have attended have been seamless in efficiency from Gary & his staff. Personally i’ve had some fussy guests that required a bit of personal massaging & Gary & his staff have always been very accommodating. Having attended multiple functions run by Gary Power they never disappoint. These functions always get the right balance of great food, Drinks and stories that never let the truth get in the way. Always a good laugh, the calibre of the speakers he continues to get is quite remarkable and always one of the first days put in the calendar.

Gary’s sports lunches were always a must attend. Attending 10+ of the events, the Highlight for me was always the Horse Racing and Punting Lunches. If you are a punter, or just love Horse racing I cant stress how much fun these were. Gary is very professional and has access to key industry personnel regardless of the Sport. I found Gary to be exceptionally easy to deal with, with a no nonsense approach to each occasion.  Every event was always sold out with such an eclectic mix of patrons. Part of this was due to the guest speakers and part of it was due to the way the events were run. No one in QLD does these events, and I would love to go again.  Overall I can’t stress enough how amazing these events were to attend.  I can highly recommend any business to get on board and any patrons to make sure they book in early. 

I have owned the Trade Coast Hotel for approximately 18 years (formerly Pinkenba Hotel). I have known and worked with Gary Power for 14 of those years with his position as Venue Manager.
